Take a photo that shows the shape.
Choose a clear subject, useful angle and even lighting for photo-to-brick generation. Learn which details may be simplified.
Show one subject from a useful angle.
Keep the whole subject visible, including legs, handles or other attachments. A three-quarter view often reveals both the front and the side. Avoid a crop that cuts off the top or base.
Separate the subject from its background.
Use a plain, uncluttered background and soft, even light. Avoid motion blur, extreme shadows or several overlapping objects. Do not add labels or arrows over the object.
Choose enough detail without an oversized file.
Use JPG, PNG or WebP up to 8 MB, at least 128 pixels on the shortest side and no more than 25 megapixels. A sharper, clearly framed subject is more useful than a larger file with blur.
Understand what the photo leaves out.
The back, underside and hidden attachments must be inferred. Transparent or reflective surfaces can be particularly ambiguous. Check those features in the result rather than assuming an exact replica.
Review the finished design.
Look at the overall silhouette, colors and important attachments. Then read the quality notes. A larger size may preserve more detail, but it cannot recover information that was absent or misinterpreted in the source.
